Twitter TV Special: How to Get 10,000 Followers on Twitter. (It’s real, I’ve just done it.)

TODAY’S 7 MINUTE TV PROGRAM REVEALS HOW I GREW MY LIST OF FOLLOWERS TO 10,000 on http://Twitter.com and how you can do it too.

I show exactly the steps I took so you can replicate them. It’s also vital to realise that it’s the QUALITY of your relationships on Twitter that matters. This is the key, not just the sheer numbers.

Plus, consider this traffic gold nugget:  Twitter can haul substantial numbers of perfectly targeted customers to your web site or blog.  The reason for this is because of two powerful advantages that become rapidly apparent when you join Twitter:

TWITTER TRAFFIC ADVANTAGE #1

In truth, you can form a relationship surprisingly quickly with big, even famous influential operators like Stephen Fry who has 339,000 followers, Tony Robbins 240,000 or Richard Branson who recently discovered Twitter and already has 63,000 followers.  Far fetched? Not at all. You might even hear from Britney Spears, although the noise of her other 537,292 followers means that she just might not hear your cry.

THE FACT IS THAT YOU CAN GAIN ULTRA-FAST, VALUABLE CONTACT WITH MASS MARKETERS AND OTHER HIGH VALUE CONTACTS

The bottom line is that all business is based on relationships, and Twitter is a extraordinary way to shortcut the process. Yes, A REAL relationship must be developed, but the early stages can be dramatically accelerated.

Proof of this is that I’ ve made more high value connections in four months than in 10 years previously. (Without exaggeration.)

Essentially, Twitter has enabled me to book and shoot an interview with renowned communication skills coach Felicia Slattery, publicity genius Sanyika Calloway Boyce, and several others  (confidential) yet to be announced, all via Twitter contact.

TWITTER TRAFFIC ADVANTAGE #2

NOW GET THIS: YOU CAN DIRECTLY INTRODUCE YOUR PRODUCT OR SERVICE TO A PERFECTLY NICHE-FOCUSED GROUP IN REAL TIME …  WITH AN ENDLESS SOFT SELL ON TWITTER

In short, you can soft sell your product service or cause to large numbers of people, who get to know and trust you.  Mostly Twitter works through the sense of social interaction. Blatant product pitching means being ignored, although being unfollowed by many is more likely

FINALLY, TWITTER’S 800LB GORILLA SECRET:

It is the REAL TIME nature of Twitter that is it’s biggest secret, a form of micro blogging with only 140 characters at a time allowed.  It is like vast cocktail party, or as some like PR specialist Dana Wilhoit (12,146 followers)  would say, it feels more like a noisy Chamber of Commerce meeting.  This ’social power’ has caused Facebook to completely change its appearance and alter its strategy to combat the rising force that is Twitter.

Consider this. Some in the internet marketing niche have achieved lightning fast growth through their amazing social ability like Daiv Russell with his 24,000+ followers.

Furthermore yet another maestro of valuable Twitter content and writing is email copywriter Kenneth YU - @emailcopywriter   “The Puller of Heartstrings and Pursestrings”. He gained 14,000 in about three months! His Twitter Salvation System had a MAJOR influence on my path to 10,000.

Finally, let me say that Twitter surely hones the art of abbreviation to a fine edge. But I feel the loss of the real art of conversation!  Today’s TV program also shows how it is still possible to convey value and personality.

Hey Johnathan love your website and twitter page it is like a breath of fresh air and just’s exudes the entrepreneur lifestyle. I said to my husband straight away you want to build your website and blog exactly the same way. He is a direct response marketer with a flair for TV (previously had his own TV show) and not I am setting him up online and trying to educate him about web 2.0. He is very green when it comes to IM.

I lived in New Zealand for 13 years before migrating to the land of Oz. I still have family there. It is so nice to meet friends with things in common on twitter.

Do you create other people’s websites for them or can you recommend someone to brand my husband’s twitter and blog/website please. I am more of a document designer Powerpoint Wizz myself and only create my websites using templates – html and I do not see eye to eye.

Just dowloaded your free report. I am also following Maria Andros and sending her some love to help her get her followers back which is how I found you.

Don’t you just love how twitter does not.

Anyway, love your design, congratulations, I look forward to looking through some of your videos and finding out more.

Have a great week.
Cheers
Pam

Hi Pam

IM sure is a great lifestyle. But please be sure that online TV really is the thing for your fella. Its …. complicated.

The Traffic Cafe took me quite a while to figure out – branding and positioning in particular. Did it entirely myself, although I had the wordpress blog built to exactly match a mock-up I made in Photoshop. But now VERY happy with it. The other business I have is easier – minisites that sell small amounts each week. Slowly building them.

The TV is mostly branding / credibility / relationships creating. plus building a mailing list in synch.

Designers? I could suggest Rachel Cunliffe ( @cre8d ) is my ‘web garage’. Very helpful and she’s made some nice wordpress blogs, including @problogger’s .

Appreciate your comments here.
Keep in touch.

Hey Jonathan,
It’s not hard to see why you have 10,000 followers so quickly. That number really has rocketed since we spoke the othe week and I am so pleased for you.

You have proved that high quality information, well presented and not asking directly for anything in return is a very powerful strategy.

10,000 followers today – well done and here’s to the next 10,000 people that make the wise choice and follow you as well.

God bless Twitter ;-)

Twitter is the best place I have ever found for networking, bar none. I get 90-95 percent of my clients from Twitter. I’ve also made some really good friendships on Twitter, and finally, I find it to be like a universal collection of knowledge – like a living Encyclopedia. If I need to ask about ANYTHING I can find it on Twitter.

Hey Jonathan, thanks so much for your feedback that was fantastic. I will definitely pass on your advice. I am wanting to use the TV for branding but more likely to follow Maria Andros strategies for positioning his business using social media.

Will definitely keep following your tips and tricks and congratulations on reaching 10,000 in such a short period of time. I will be following your tips to do the same.

Have a great week. Cheers

Hi Jonathan,

That was a very good tactic you put up there today.

There was another tactic that I wanted to share with you, one that got me 3000 followers in 3 weeks ( not to shabby ) and it is still relivent today, and that is a viral piece of software called tweetergetter. Yiou can check it out here at http://tweetergetter.com/davidjcarne

Basically you automatically follow the people bellow you by tweeting the message in the box. you then put your twitter profile name at the top and send it to as many people you know, and the whole process becomes viral.

To Yiour Success

Jonathan, thank you so much for yet-another fantabulous trafficcafe episode. (Long will Episode 39 glow with an unearthly halo in the lightbox of my memory.)

I’ve been using some ‘good content’ tactics similar to yours. My niche is playing guitar or bass with the astounding ‘two-handed touchstyle’ method, so I’ve been posting videos, links to lessons, quotes, good stories, and re-tweeting really good guitar-related things when I find them.

However, though I’ve developed some superb ways of finding this unique information about guitar playing and two-handed tapping, I’d not even thought of searching good old Google as you described.

Thanks to you, my followers are going to get even *more* good stuff.

Any guitar or bass-players (or Chapman Stick players) here? Come see how ‘Dread Pirate Topaz’ applies Jonathan’s info on Twitter!

Hey Jonathan what a great video you posted for everyone today on how you build your network of followers. You and I have been following each for some time and we always share some great content between us.

One question I get asked a lot is “Where do you find all that great content you share with everyone on a daily basis.” Well one of my secret lil gems I use is Google Alerts. With Google alerts you can pick the keywords related to your niche and Google will email you the latest articles related to your search terms.

As you know my team and I have been developing the Twitter Power System for the last few months. So I track everything related to Twitter and pass this great information along to my followers. This helps me to keep the edge on Twitter along with my followers.

You may find this interesting… your article was one of the links posted in this mornings email from Google alerts. Now I follow you on Twitter as well so I seen your post there as well. If I wasn’t already following you on Twitter I definitely would have been after watching your video.

My last tip is to make your Tweets interesting so people will click on them. After finding a great article to share with others I take the time to “craft” my Tweets. This increases the chance of someone reading my tweets, clicking on my links I share and finally retweeting to others.

I know you enjoy some of my Tweets as you retweet them frequently and you have provided some great feedback on them as well.

Keep up the great work Jonathan. It’s always a pleasure read the information you share with others. Welcome to the 10K club you are well on your way to the Twitter Elite my friend.

Warm Regards,

James Rivers

Wow, awesome videos.

I love the stuff you pump out bro. Really good, really professional. Heck, even the Puppet Master is getting new ideas everyday.

My favorite part about Twitter? If you position yourself as an expert, no one is going to question you. Whether your proclaiming your authority in an essay or in 140 characters it does not make a difference.

Jay Abraham was right. People are silently looking to be led. :)

As always, Jonathan, you hit the nail on the head. Just past 5,000 followers in 6 weeks myself. Had started with Twitter two years ago, but restarted 6 weeks ago. The key for me has been the rise of my http://www.bookmarket.com website in Alexa rankings from 169,000 to 121,450 in 6 weeks. All due to my Twitter activity. I wrote a blog post about my Twactivity :) ) http://blog.bookmarket.com/2009/03/30-day-twitter-challenge.html. I hope you check it out.

Thank you for calling my attention to this particular episode (#39) of TrafficCafe. Your traffic building presentations are always well-thought out, concisely presented and enlightening for all to partake.

Jonathan, I’ve neglected getting you properly introduced to the powerful concept and strategies of “Ancestral Marketing.” Once you make the discovery and connect the dots – you’re going to see a brand new, completely untouched and very rich vein for nugget collecting and sharing. (Look for an email from me within the next 48 hours.)

Cheers!
