The ONE VITAL THING you must do with your internet business, or risk losing the chance to make a living online - Episode 72
4 Minute TV show: The biggest killer of success in an online business is not obeying this ONE WORD.
It’s not copywriting skills, nor ‘traffic’ although we do need to get those right. Nope it’s something else.
Nor it is ‘Confidence’ or Mindset. Yes, they underpin absolutely everything in an internet or any other business. But what I’m referring to is another word that applies to how you go about your daily work. It is crucial that you do this one thing.
Bottom line is if you obey this word all the way through your working day, you’ll hit the ball out of the park.
Leave me a comment below, and tell me if you do this … or not. I’m extremely interested to know how well folks do this. (It’s not easy)

Jonathan.
Looks like you ‘hit the ball out of the park’ with this to quote you back.
Man … I was tempted to leave a spoiler here and reveal ‘the word’!
It has been a major issue for my business. So I’m making a big sign with THE WORD on it for my basement wall. That’s where I work, but I am graduating to the kitchen table soon

Happy I found you on Twitter. I have been having a great time watching your videos. I agree Focus is number on thing. Reminds me I need to set my timer for 60 minutes of focused work. See you on Twitter.

Hi Jonathan, another great reminder full of good information. Focus is the only constant in my life right now!! Thank you Jonathan.

Hi Jonathan,
That one word is so important it comes before you even attempt
to start making money on the internet.
And you bought that awareness to me that has changed the
way I am doing things, as well as other ideas:)
The right path is to follow everything you say because
you cut to the chase and above all your genuine.
Focus and then ‘act’, that could be another word.
Take care
Tony

Dear Jonathan,
Thank you so much, I am a firm believer in being focused. I am one of those who have been posting articles to ezinearticles.com, leaving blog comments, guest posting and so on because that’s what I read and didn’t know better. Now I understand why I really haven’t been achieving my goals. I have over 30 articles on ezinearticles.com and another 20 on selfgrowth.com so now I will take your advice and convert them to podcasts and slides for YouTube.

Hi Susie. Life has its ‘ups’ and ‘not so ups’
I always try to shed some light here and there. But then … you’re pretty good at that too.
Jonathan

Nick… you always seem extremely and precisely aimed at your target – ADHA or not. Thanks for your enthusiasm brother.

Tony.
Great Scott you’re right! Action has to follow closely behind focus. That’s motivated me to do a new post on it.
By the way, if you’re looking for some sort of logical-to-follow system, did you see Chris Farrell’s site? Might help.
http://bit.ly/Chris-Farrell He runs a site on how to build an online business from the very beginning. Lots of free and helpful stuff there.

Sounds like you are off to a good start with all that material. One effective thing to do is search in You Tube for other videos in your market niche.
Find the most popular ones – the most viewed. Then look at their text and tags. Write very similar text but actually copy most of the tags, and add a few of your own for originality. (Avoid copying people’s names in the tags.)
This way You Tube will see it as the same type of content, and your video can end up being one of the suggested ones to watch – right under the popular ones.

Hi Jonathan,
I can’t agree more on what you shared, focus is definitely the key to success. There are lots of people, jump from opportunities to opportunities, without putting effort, and eventually just quit everything and go back to their day job.
The real difference between the rich and the mediocre is that the rich stay focus all the time and they are business builder, while the mediocre always get distracted and they are opportunity seeker.
Great job!
Cheers,
Ming Jong

WOW Johnathan:
I could have NOT said it any better.
Know Thyself!
1. Figure out what you like to do.
2. Do that CONSISTENTLY!
3. REPEAT.
Thanks for reminding me what I need to concentrate on.
FOCUS ON ONE THING, DO THAT WELL!!!

Fantastic, thank you so much. Just last night, on a membership that I belong to, I wrote about my frustration and was begging for someone to partner with me, or to just help me outs! But that short little post was just what I needed to hear.
thank you, Donahue

Quoting you “The real difference between the rich and the mediocre is that the rich stay focus all the time and they are business builder, while the mediocre always get distracted and they are opportunity seeker.”
Absolutely perfect. Could not say it better.

Your ‘Know Thyself’ point is well taken. EXACTLY.
Most people do not know who on earth they are, and have never spent more thn 20 seconds truly trying to figure it out – this to be fair is because most people don’t have the tools to do so.
I’ll soon have a membership site for a limited number of people, where I”ll teach this and also ‘how to do internet marketing’ – made logical and easy.

Jonathan,
Thank you! Talk about a great user experience, I’m completely blown away. I have a question about the You Tube video. How would I create the slides for You Tube, what software would I use? I have some great presentations in PowerPoint, which are made from content from some of the articles. The problem is that I have been told that I need a separate piece of software to make my PowerPoint presentations compatible with YouTube, how can I get around that?
Thanks for your generosity. Avil Beckford

Hi Avil
This is the solution you seek. It’s exactly as I would have suggested – i.e. How to convert a power point presentation into a video: Use Camstudio. (Free)

Hi Johnathon,
Your title “FOCUS” drew me because of a small pge I have up of the same name where I relay a short ditty about how Focus played a very big part in my Off-Line sucess.
However! – Trying to ‘Focus’ On-Line is proving a very difficult task for me. I’m a bit like a kid in a sweet shop with too many ideas running around inside my head. BUT! I do have a long term project that’s filtered itself out of the mayhem and it’s based on the Off-Line success I had ‘before’ being virtually forced on-line by circumstances beyond my control.
This short video reminded me I needed a good kick up the jacksy {:-))
Cheers, Pete.

Hi Pete
It’s very easy to tell everyone to FOCUS, but it applies to me too. So … with your permission (well in fact, without your permission LOL) I’ll quote it here to give me a jog along too.
Poem by Pete Moring:
FOCUS
Ello Darlin,
Ello love,
Super Od’s me name.
Makin loads-a-money,
an workin ard’s me game.
When I was at school,
I made meself a promise.
I was gonna be rich some day,
I knew me brain was addled,
but it didn’t matter anyway.
I ad a will of iron,
that no-one could grind down.
When I left school and went to work,
I really went to town.
When every one ad finished
I would stay back late.
Making sure that next day
we’d cop a better rate.
I knew that time was on me side
and if I used it right,
I would be rewarded
with the ‘gold’ and all it’s might.
I’ve grafted ard every day
to earn the extra quids.
I’ve provided very well
for me wife and me kids.
Me flash cars, flash house,
Golf and swimming pools,
are now me reward
for ignoring all the fools.
Still, I’ve got me knockers,
who think that I’m a waster.
They think I live off ill-gotten-gain.
But there’s at least a thousand men out there
who’ve witnessed me strength,
me will of iron ……… And me pain.
So let me tell you darlin’s
who are leaving school just now.
Time is on your side,
use it like I’ve shown you how.
Work ard, no matter ow it urts
and you will be rewarded.
Don’t take out credit,
save your pounds.
Picture your ouse in it’s ramblin grounds.
Picture your pool in the sun.
Your race orse run.
Your flash car turnin the eds.
Pretty soon me darlin’s
you’ll be rollin in money beds.
Waste your time like all the rest,
and ‘the rest’ is who you’ll be.
Stand out from the crowd
an be your own ’self’.
‘Yourself’ is who they’ll all see.
Be tough, determined,
and as honest as you can.
Don’t fall for the ‘Scams’ of the ‘political man’.
Focus your mind and visualise.
It’s all there for YOU,
except the stars in the skies.
Pete.

This was wonderful. It is the simpliest things that make the major differences.
Thanks for telling me to focus
