Will you tumble HEADLONG into the CLASSIC TRAP many entrepreneurs do when starting out on the internet? Will you attempt to go ENTIRELY with a passion of yours, that in reality hasn’t the slightest chance of making any money online? (Anyone for a game of Majong?)
TODAY’S 3 MINUTE TV PROGRAM reveals some money generating options.
Quite simply, if your passion is trading or selling online, then choose a market that falls into
one of the four P’s or ‘desperation’ products or services:
A Pain, a Problem, a Passion, or … Poop.
There is a famous Victorian expression “Where there’s muck there’s brass”. In essence this means that wherever there’s a desperate, passionate situation that MUST be cleaned up or dealt with, there money to be made. Think I’m exaggerating? Have you ever wondered why medical specialists are often so wealthy? It’s because their patients are desperate people.
Sadly, desperate people throw caution to the winds (and often money they do not own) in the search for a solution to their pain, problem or passion or to have poop cleaned up
Think about it. Desperate people will spend irrationally and in large amounts if they have one of the following: A pain they cannot bear, a problem they are desperate to solve, a passion with which they are completely obessed, or a large pile of ‘poop’ in their lives – a ghastly mess they desperately want cleaned up
1. Pains - Generally health related. Desperation is often a major factor.
(e.g. The multi-billion dollar weight loss industry.)
2. Problems - Anything from badly needing money, to finding a job,
or worrying about how to get a child into college.
3. Passions - Often highly obessive, such as a love affair, or ‘must have’
hobbies such as golf.
4. Poop - A financial mess to be cleaned up is a perfect example.
Today’s 4 minute TV program throws a powerful light on the truth. If your passion is
trading, marketing or selling, and the product or service is secondary to that, then remember that ‘Where There’s Muck There’s Brass.”
You’re far more likely to win if you choose a DESPERATE market.

A very interesting concept and nice and easy to remember. My own area is crafts and hobbies and these very often go hand in hand with passions – or obsessions. Every hobbyist is passionate about his or her area. I would think that the ideal would be to combine all four. Now that would be something!
Ofline / online hobbies? No matter what they sure can be completely obsessive.
I once wanted to be famous artist. Painted 12 hours a day and spent
and endless amount on expensive colors, canvas, painting trips etc
Now my old art master (82 years!) uses a PC to create his work

Oh Jonathan, you KNOW I will go with the Passion!! (for horses, of course!).
Susie … Ah yes. Passion rules our personal highway – all the way to the horizon and back.
Is there any other choice?
Your Horse web site coming along? Do tell.

Good selection Croz!
Absolutely on the money here. And what’s true for most people, when you can combine your own passion with someone else’s, that’s when the rubber meets the road in the easiest possible way.
Of course, there are exceptions as always. But this is the way I’ve always done it, and the way I continue to teach it…
Juho.
Highly interesting idea and contribution. Combining the passions of two people.
So good in fact I might make a whole program based on it.
Thanks
Jonathan

Pay per click seems to have significantly changed in the last couple of weeks. If you perform a search for“ service” “ location” e. g. “ car hire London” and then after a couple of different combinations go back to a generic search such as“ service” e. g. “ van hire” you will see that the location entered before sticks with you. Works better with specific locations (rather than generic London) so you can have fun drilling down.
