3 Min TV Special: How to quickly build powerful back-link ‘Traffic Machines’ to your website, and avoid ‘Trashy’ links that can get your website banned by Google - Episode 74

3 Minute TV Special.  High quality backlinks can help significantly in building your business online. So avoid products that teach how to ‘game’ Google with bad backlinks that could cause all your websites to be banned.

Program shows the safe, ‘Google approved’ way to build powerful backlinks to your site that will increase rankings, and generate increasing revenues for years to come.

Why on EARTH people insist on trying to ‘game’ Google is beyond me. Basically they are running to stay one foot ahead of the devil, because Google will find them out if they put irrelevant backlinks all over the internet in an frantic attempt to improve their Search engine rankings.

The bottom line is that there is a better way.  The ‘Double Shot’ backlinks method outlined in this brief TV show builds links that lift your site to the top of the rankings, keep it there, and continue working, bringing increasing amounts of traffic and revenue – for years.

    Hi Jonathan,

I am interested in link building. I have many high quality articles on ezinearticles.com and selfgrowth.com but I do not think that I have any backlinks. How would I find out for sure? And if I do not have any, why is that? Am I writing really great articles that people do not care about? This would be a completely different kind of problem.

I’m trashing all my trash links Jonathan. I promise :)

Keep it coming. This info is GREAT!

    Hi Avil
It’s very late here (3am LOL) I’ll answer your question tomorrow.
    All the best

    Hi Phil.

Yes, obeying the anti trash link rule is the right path Sir.

    Cool stuff!

I have seen some people website with backlinks from other websites totally different niche from them (i.e. a car blog link back to an internet marketing website). Not sure if Google will penalise this as it is totally non-relevant…

I have personally used article marketing, which have backlinks generated from the article directories to my website, and via syndication when people published my articles on their website.

    Cheers,
    Ming Jong

    Great video Jonathan!

You hit the nail on the head. It’s blindingly obvious that we should be creating good quality content but people can be seduced by what appears to be “easy”, “quick” and “fast” solutions that actually do more harm than good.

A few great articles will do a lot more for your reputation than 10’s or 100’s of “spam” re-hashed and spun articles.

And as you correctly pointed out, Google is very clever and will spot and drop spam type content.

    Thanks again,
    Nick

You’ve got it in one – exactly. Google WILL eventually discount the irrelevant links – such as on the unrelated car blog. (It will work for a while, but eventually fade.)

For quick work you can get away with it maybe for a period, but why not do it properly in the first place?

I can see that you clearly think BUSINESS BUILD first – you’re a winner Ming.

Oh yea. You hit on a very neglected point there Jonathan… People get so carried away in their quest for traffic… ANY traffic. Quality rules.

    Hi Jonathan,

thanks for the great information, good Backlinks are the salt for the soup, and comments on artikel drive also a side up in google. Greetings from sunny Mallorca Marc

Good point, That makes sense to me and I’m just getting started in the web world. I owned and operated a business for many years and that’s the way we did business in brick and mortar world.

Marc – your Twitter ideas (blog) are great! What you doing in Mallorca? It’s sunny here too – mid summer in the South Pacific.

Juho – Thanks. I guess I could have summed up the entire video and article up in your word: QUALITY

Tom – Bricks and Mortar rules apply for sure. Strange that a ton of marketers online believe that the rules don’t apply.

Offline (read ‘REAL WORLD’) commerce remains FAR larger than the internet. But I’ll take the Internet – means I never have to go to a corporate office.

Its real tempting to put backlinks in places that have nothing to do with my cosmetics (day wear) subject – I have found some do follow .edu sites that will let me put links in, and the PR is high – 7!

    Do I really not bother?

    Avil

Ezine Articles do not allow links in their articles to link back to your site. (They are called ‘No Follow’ links.) But in the resource box at the bottom, the links are ‘Do Follow’, and should show up as backlinks to your site.

The most realistic backlinks research tool I know of is Yahoo Site Explorer: https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/mysites

You can also check backlinks coming into your site with this free tool.
    http://www.backlinkwatch.com

You could also join the webmaster tools at http://www.google.com/webmasters/ But the problem with Google is that they have stopped accurately showing how many backlinks there are – which indicates to me that Google think backlinks are VERY IMPORTANT.

  16. Jenny Wilmshurst - Tweet Twins Social Media  |  February 6th, 2010 at 1:11 am #

Our optimum is to become well linked, with a range of media types, as you say Jonathon. There are many ways of seeing this and we could spend a number of sessions on it!

Additional to the benefit of traffic, and dominating Google search pages, through quality content and by being MEMORABLE you can position yourself as an AUTHORITY.

For anyone reading this, wouldn’t you like to become known as the ‘….[your product/service/sector guy or lady who....] Jonathan, you have done that with your branding.

This is what we have found effective and advise with Tweet Twins, our own other online business and clients’.

  17. Admin  |  February 6th, 2010 at 1:39 am #

Hi Jenny. Good to see you here.

AGREE. Authority yes – good value there, and in the case of Gary Vaynerchuk for example, that’s all it requires as he spreads himself across the social media. Branding is all. Sounds like you give very good advice to your clients.

But if you are not a public figure (many folks don’t want to be) and exclusively run niche sites unseen, then building out rich ‘Triple shot’ links is the super bomb answer for Traffic.

    Hi Jonathan
Your ideas are excellent and I will try to change my website to contain some of your ideas. My background is in television broadcasting in the UK Now I live in Spain and would like to learn more about web marketing not to make millions like some of the people say but just enough to have a nice living.
Your idea using video is great but I have one small problem with it. As soon as I open your page I see this nice guy with no arms. The whole idea about the cafe is very good but I think you have to sit up higher. Don’t be shy we all know you have arms.
Keep all this good stuff coming, many thanks

    Harry

    Harry

Go for it re your new TV show man. Let me know if you need advice or anything at all.

Very good point too re the way I sit in the show. Hmmm. No arms? I’ve had a lot of comments in the past saying I waved my arms around too much. Maybe I over-reacted? I reckon a half way house will work. I’ll certainly sit higher in the frame. A very useful contribution thank you.

    I’m always learning.
